Kasturba Gandhi Skill Development Programme
Inspired by Kasturba Gandhi’s spirit of resilience and service, this programme was created to equip women from vulnerable communities with practical skills to build independent livelihoods.
Since 2021, we have:
Trained hundreds of women in tailoring, enabling them to earn an income from home or start small businesses.
Provided sewing machines to graduates of the programme, so their skills translate into immediate opportunities.
Offered driving lessons to expand mobility and open doors to new professions.
This is not just training. It is a pathway to dignity, confidence and economic freedom. Each skill learnt is a step towards breaking cycles of dependence and poverty, echoing Gandhiji’s belief that true empowerment comes through self-reliance.
